Trip Extension

A Week in Paradise • 7 days

This is an awesome way to get more out of your volunteering experience and be a part of a government backed initiative to protect and encourage population growth of the Green and Hawksbill turtles and restore the reefs and all taking place on a beautiful tropical island – this place is paradise! Enjoy resort style with the chef utilising fresh local produce!

Day 1-7 Turtle Conservation Week

  • Provide ongoing care for Headstart Hatchlings – foraging for dietary components e.g. seaweeds, crabs, ensuring behavioural enrichment such as building rock ledges

  • Building new turtle pools

  • Build a new turtle sick bay

  • Crown of Thorns Starfish (COTS) removal and control

  • Artificial reef development – constructing artificial reef

  • Coral farming – harvesting and growing coral fragments for transplant on affected reef or artificial reef

  • CoralWatch coral bleaching surveys

Beachcomber Island Resort

Meals:

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 7 Travel to Nadi Bay Resort

Afternoon transfer to Resort Relax or the airport for evening flights.

Day 8 Early transfer for flight home

Souvenir Shopping and flight home.

To secure your place with VESA a non-refundable deposit is payable immediately after you have received notification of your acceptance to participate in the program. The balance or final payment of the program costs is due 45 days before departure.
