Our 2018 Africa volunteers have found themselves working hard on our project to build a house for seventy-year-old Mantombi and her nine grandchildren. She and her grandchildren, between the ages of six and twenty-eight, are living in a shack the size of your typical small bedroom.
Most of these children have been raised by their grandmother Mantombi due to the death of their parents. Both Mantombi and her oldest son are confined to wheelchairs due to ill health and age-related issues. Once the house is completed, there will be full access by ramp as well as beds for all and basic furnishings.
